জুলাই-আগস্টের গণজাগরণে যখন ছাত্র-জনতার কণ্ঠস্বর গর্জে উঠেছিল, তখন শাসকের হাতে ছিল একটাই জবাব—গ্রেপ্তার, নির্যাতন, দমন। ২৬ জুলাই, ছাত্রদের লক্ষ্য করে চলে পরিকল্পিতভাবে গণগ্রেপ্তার। যারা স্বপ্ন দেখেছিল, যারা সত্যের পক্ষে দাঁড়িয়েছিল, তাদের শেকল পরানো হয়েছিল ন্যায়ের আওয়াজ থামাতে। কিন্তু কোনো শাসনই চিরকাল দমন টিকিয়ে রাখতে পারে না। প্রতিটি শেকল ভাঙার শপথ হয়ে ওঠে, প্রতিটি নিপীড়ন জন্ম দেয় নতুন প্রতিরোধ। এই আন্দোলনের আগুন এখনও নিভে যায়নি।

As the July–August uprising echoed through the streets of Bangladesh, the regime chose suppression over dialogue. On 26 July, in a calculated move, they arrested students en masse—young voices who dared to envision a just future. But the crackdown couldn’t crush conviction. Every arrest became a spark. Every act of brutality birthed resistance. The fight for justice continues, louder than ever.

They were innocent, eyes filled with dreams of the future. But a regime driven by repression became so fearful that it spared not even those tender lives. Bullets pierced their little chests—because their dreams, their courage, frightened tyranny. The blood of those child martyrs still stirs our conscience. Not tears, but fire burns in our eyes. From that fire, new vows of resistance are born—this injustice will not go unaccounted for; history itself will demand answers. They are no longer with us, yet they live on—in our spirit, in our slogans, in every act of defiance.

শত বাধা পেরিয়ে, শত ঝঞ্ঝা অতিক্রম করে আমরা পেয়েছি এই স্বাধীনতা। নির্বিচারে পুলিশের গুলি, সন্ত্রাসী বাহিনীর হামলা, অত্যাচার—কিছুই দমন করতে পারেনি একটি জাগ্রত জাতিকে। শক্ত হাতে দমনের প্রতিশ্রুতি আর মাথা নত করানোর চেষ্টাকে পিছনে ফেলে, মানুষের অচঞ্চল মন থেকে উঠে এসেছিল বিপ্লবের সুর। জুলাইয়ের সেই ভয়ানক দিনগুলো আমাদের মনে করিয়ে দেয়—স্বাধীনতার মূল্য কত বড়। তবুও, উত্তাল মানুষের অন্তরে ভয়কে জয় করে, শত বাধা পেরিয়ে তারা রুখে দাঁড়িয়েছিল। তারা স্বপ্ন দেখেছিল একটি নতুন বাংলাদেশের—একটি মানবতাবাদী, সংহতিনির্ভর ও ন্যায়ভিত্তিক রাষ্ট্রের। এই স্বাধীনতা তার প্রথম প্রতীক।

Overcoming countless obstacles and storms, we have earned this freedom. Indiscriminate police shootings, attacks by militant forces, and relentless oppression—nothing could suppress an awakened nation. Pledges of brutal suppression and efforts to force submission were cast aside as the unshakable will of the people gave rise to the song of revolution. Those terrifying days of July remind us of the immense price of freedom. Yet, defying fear and facing every barrier, the people stood tall. They dreamed of a new Bangladesh—a nation built on humanity, solidarity, and justice. This freedom is the first symbol of that dream.

মাদ্রাসা ছাত্রদের লড়াইয়ে জেগে ওঠা বাংলাদেশ। ২০২৪ সালের জুলাই গণঅভ্যুত্থানের আরেকটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ অধ্যায় রচিত হয়েছিল মাদ্রাসা ছাত্রদের হাতে। ২১ জুলাই তারা শুধু প্রতিবাদ করেনি—তারা প্রমাণ করেছে, যে যেখানে আছে, সেখান থেকেই অন্যায়ের বিরুদ্ধে লড়াই করা যায়। দেশের নানা প্রান্ত থেকে মাদ্রাসার ছাত্ররা এক কণ্ঠে গর্জে উঠেছিল রাষ্ট্রীয় নিপীড়নের বিরুদ্ধে, তুলে ধরেছিল ন্যায়ের দাবিতে ঐক্যবদ্ধ অবস্থান। তাদের আত্মত্যাগ ও সংঘবদ্ধ আন্দোলন নতুন মাত্রা এনে দেয় ছাত্র-জনতার প্রতিরোধে। শুধু শিক্ষার অঙ্গনেই নয়, রাজপথেও তারা নেতৃত্বের জায়গা তৈরি করে নেয়। তাদের দৃঢ়তা, সাহস ও শৃঙ্খলিত প্রতিরোধ আজ গণআন্দোলনের ইতিহাসে গর্বের অংশ হয়ে আছে।

A Bangladesh Awakened by the Struggle of Madrasa Students An important chapter of the July 2024 mass uprising was written by the madrasa students. They did not just protest—they proved that one can rise against injustice from wherever they stand. From across the country, madrasa students raised their voices in unison against state repression, standing together in a unified demand for justice. Their sacrifice and organized movement brought a new dimension to the student-people resistance. They carved out a place for leadership not only in the realm of education but also on the streets. Their determination, courage, and disciplined resistance remain a proud part of the history of the people’s movement.

Marching the Path of Resistance: Symbolic Marathon 2025 The Symbolic Marathon 2025 was held at the China-Bangladesh International Conference Center, jointly organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the July Martyrs Memorial Foundation. The event was inaugurated in the presence of Advisor Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, Secretary Mahbub Ul Alam, Additional Secretary Md. Iqbal Hossain, Joint Secretary Dr. Sheikh Md. Zobaid Hossain, and Kamal Akbar, Chief Executive of the July Martyrs Memorial Foundation. This marathon served as a powerful tribute to the martyrs and fighters of the July 2024 movement—a symbolic initiative aimed at inspiring the new generation with the spirit of patriotism, heritage, and resistance.

২০২৪ সালের জুলাই-আগস্টের গণঅভ্যুত্থানে বেসরকারি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষার্থীরা হয়ে উঠেছিলেন প্রতিবাদের অগ্রসৈনিক। যাদের নিয়ে অনেক সময় সমাজে ভুল ধারণা ছিল—বিচ্ছিন্ন, রাজনৈতিকভাবে অনাগ্রহী কিংবা সুবিধাবাদী—তারা সেই সব ধারণাকে ভেঙে চুরমার করে দেন তাঁদের সাহস, সচেতনতা ও দৃপ্ত অবস্থান দিয়ে। তাঁরা দেখিয়ে দিয়েছেন, পরিবর্তনের দায় কেবল সরকারি বা পাবলিক বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ছাত্রছাত্রীদের নয়—বরং সমাজের প্রতিটি সচেতন নাগরিকের। এই শিক্ষার্থীরা ছিলেন সেই প্রজন্ম, যারা ক্যাম্পাসের দেয়াল পেরিয়ে, নিজেদের আরামের বলয় ছেড়ে রাস্তায় দাঁড়িয়েছেন অন্যায়ের বিরুদ্ধে। যেখানেই অন্যায়, সেখানেই প্রতিরোধ—এই মন্ত্রকে হৃদয়ে ধারণ করে তাঁরা ঝাঁপিয়ে পড়েছেন রাষ্ট্রীয় দমন-পীড়নের বিরুদ্ধে। রাষ্ট্রযন্ত্রের নিপীড়ন, ইন্টারনেট বন্ধ, গুলি, গ্রেফতার—কোনো কিছুই তাঁদের থামাতে পারেনি। তাঁদের সাহস ছিল সত্যের পক্ষে, তাঁদের জেদ ছিল ন্যায়ের পক্ষে। তাঁরা জানতেন, একটি প্রজন্মের আত্মমর্যাদার লড়াই কেবল নিজেদের জন্য নয়—পরবর্তী প্রজন্মের জন্যও একটি ন্যায্য সমাজ নির্মাণের প্রয়াস। তাঁদের নেতৃত্ব, সংহতি, কণ্ঠস্বর এবং আত্মত্যাগ এই আন্দোলনের গতি, ছন্দ ও বিস্তারকে অন্য উচ্চতায় পৌঁছে দেয়। আন্দোলনের প্রতিটি ব্যানার, প্ল্যাকার্ড আর মিছিলের পেছনে ছিল এই তরুণ হৃদয়গুলোর স্পন্দন। তাঁদের রক্তে, ঘামে ও চোখের জলে লেখা হয়েছে একটি জাতির জাগরণের নতুন অধ্যায়। এই ইতিহাস তাঁদের ভুলবে না। আমরা ভুলবো না। তাঁদের আত্মত্যাগ, তাঁদের সাহস, তাঁদের অবদানের কথা প্রজন্ম থেকে প্রজন্মে বলতেই হবে—কারণ তাঁরা কেবল আন্দোলনের অংশ ছিলেন না, তাঁরা ছিলেন এই বিপ্লবের অনুপ্রেরণা।

In the July–August 2024 mass uprising, women too stood as front-line warriors — steadfast, fearless, and undefeated. They conquered fear and marched ahead, lighting the fire of resistance in the nation’s heart.
