শহীদ আবু জাফর। ১৮ জুলাই সায়েদাবাদ গোলাপবাগে কমিউনিটি সেন্টারের সামনে ফ্যাসিবাদবিরোধী আন্দোলনে পুলিশের গুলিতে নিহত হন। তার মৃত্যুর পর তার পরিবার গভীর শোকে ডুবে যায়। পরিবারের একমাত্র উপার্জনক্ষম ব্যক্তি ছিলেন আবু জাফর। তিন সন্তান নিয়ে আজ তার স্ত্রী চরম অসহায় অবস্থায় দিন কাটাচ্ছেন। জীবিকার তাগিদে সংগ্রাম করছেন, কিন্তু স্বামীর অনুপস্থিতিতে পরিবার চালানো তার জন্য হয়ে উঠেছে দুঃসাধ্য। তবুও দেশের জন্য জীবন উৎসর্গ করার জন্য তিনি গর্ববোধ করেন। আবু জাফরের মতো হাজারো শহীদের আত্মত্যাগ, দেশের প্রতি তাদের ভালোবাসা এবং জীবন দেওয়ার নির্ভীকতা—এরই ফসল আজকের স্বাধীন বাংলাদেশ। বাংলাদেশ তাদের চিরকাল মনে রাখবে। Martyr Abu Jafar. On July 18, Martyr Abu Jafar was shot and killed by the police in front of a community center in Saydabad Golapbagh during an anti-fascist movement. His death left his family in deep mourning. Abu Jafar was the sole breadwinner of his family. Today, his wife is struggling in extreme hardship, trying to survive with their three children. She is fighting to make ends meet, but running the family without her husband has become an unbearable challenge. Yet, she takes pride in the fact that her husband sacrificed his life for the nation. The sacrifice, bravery, and unwavering love for the country shown by Abu Jafar and thousands of other martyrs have paved the way for the independent Bangladesh we have today. রিতা আক্তার। গ্রামের বাড়ি জয়পুরহাট। স্বপ্ন ছিলো বড় হয়ে ডাক্তার হবে। মা বাবা ও ভাইকে নিয়ে চলে আসেন ঢাকায়। বাবা রিকশা চালাতেন, আর মা করতেন বাসা বাড়িতে কাজ। ৫ই আগস্ট ২০২৪, মিরপুর ২ ওভারব্রিজের নিচে মিছিলে যোগ দিয়েছিলো রিতা। হঠাৎ পুলিশ গুলি বর্ষন শুরু করে।বুলেট এসে লাগে রিতার মাথায়। সাথে সাথে মারা যান রিতা। অনেক খুজে তার লাশ পাওয়া যায় সোহরাওয়ার্দী মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালে। তার মৃত্যুতে তার বাবা মা আজও শোকে কাতর। তবে রিতার মতো শত নারীর দেশের জন্য আত্মবলিদান ও বলিষ্ঠ মনোবল আজকের স্বাধীন বাংলাদেশ। এই দেশ রিতা আক্তারদের মনে রাখবে চিরকাল।

Rita Akter. Her ancestral home was in Joypurhat. She dreamt of becoming a doctor when she grew up. She moved to Dhaka with her parents and brother. Her father drove a rickshaw, and her mother worked as a maid in houses. On August 5, 2024, Rita joined a procession under the Mirpur-2 overbridge. Suddenly, the police started firing, and a bullet struck Rita in the head. She died on the spot. After much searching, her body was found at the Sohrawardy Medical College Hospital. Her parents are still grieving her loss. However, the self-sacrifice and strong will of women like Rita for the country is what made today’s independent Bangladesh. This country will forever remember the sacrifices of people like Rita Akter.

জুলাই শহীদ স্মৃতি ফাউন্ডেশন সবসময় শহীদ পরিবারের সদস্যদের এবং আহত যোদ্ধাদের পাশে থাকার প্রতিশ্রুতি নিয়ে কাজ করে যাচ্ছে। গতকাল, ঢাকা সিএমএইচ (CMH) হাসপাতালে চিকিৎসাধীন আহত যোদ্ধাদের সঙ্গে ইফতার এর আয়োজন করা হয়, সেখানে ফাউন্ডেশনের প্রধান নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তা (CEO) মীর মাহবুবুর রহমান স্নিগ্ধ আহত যোদ্ধাদের সঙ্গে ইফতার সম্পন্ন করেন । রমজানের এই বরকতময় সময়ে, আমরা আল্লাহর কাছে শহীদদের আত্মার শান্তি এবং আহত যোদ্ধাদের দ্রুত সুস্থতা প্রার্থনা করি। এই রমজান আমাদের জন্য শান্তি, ঐক্য এবং বরকত নিয়ে আসুক। আমিন।

শহীদ সৈকত চন্দ্র দে – এক স্বপ্নবাজ যুবক সৈকত চন্দ্র দে পুলিশ আনন্দ হাউজিং সোসাইটিতে চাকরি করতেন এবং টিউশনি করে পরিবারের খরচ চালাতেন। তার বাবা ছিলেন একজন শিক্ষক, যিনি নিজেদের জমিতে চাষ করে নিজের পড়ালেখা চালিয়ে গিয়েছিলেন। সৈকত ছিলেন একজন স্বপ্নবাজ মানুষ, তার স্বপ্ন ছিল ছেলে ক্রিকেটার হবে এবং মেয়ে ডাক্তার হবে। কিন্তু তার জীবনের স্বপ্ন পূর্ণ হওয়ার আগেই তিনি কোটা আন্দোলনে শহীদ হন। সৈকতের আত্মত্যাগ আমাদের জন্য এক অনুপ্রেরণা হয়ে থাকবে, তার স্বপ্ন আর সংগ্রামের চেতনা চিরকাল আমাদের মাঝে বেঁচে থাকবে। Shaheed Soikat Chandra De – A Dreamer at Heart Soikat Chandra De worked at Police Anand Housing Society and supported his family through tutoring. His father, a teacher, continued his education by cultivating their land. Soikat was a dreamer, and his wish was for his son to become a cricketer and his daughter a doctor. However, before his dreams could be realized, he was martyred in the quota movement. শহীদ সাফওয়ান – এক অসমাপ্ত স্বপ্ন সাফওয়ান, পিতা আখতারুজ্জামান, ছিলেন সাভার ক্যান্টনমেন্ট পাবলিক স্কুল অ্যান্ড কলেজের দশম শ্রেণির মেধাবী শিক্ষার্থী। খেলাধুলা, গান, ছবি আঁকা এবং নামাজে ছিলেন অত্যন্ত দক্ষ। তার বাবা একজন ভেটেরিনারিয়ান এবং বাংলাদেশ কৃষি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে পিএইচডি করছেন। সম্ভাবনাময় ভবিষ্যৎ নিয়ে এগিয়ে চলা সাফওয়ান ৫ আগস্ট আনন্দ মিছিলে পুলিশের গুলিতে শহীদ হন। তার স্বপ্ন, তার প্রতিভা, তার সম্ভাবনা—সব থেমে গেল এক নিষ্ঠুর গুলিতে। কিন্তু তার আত্মত্যাগ আমাদের প্রেরণা হয়ে থাকবে, আমাদের ন্যায়ের সংগ্রামকে এগিয়ে নিয়ে যাবে।

Shaheed Safwan – An Unfinished Dream Safwan, son of Akhtaruzzaman, was a brilliant tenth-grade student at Savar Cantonment Public School and College. He excelled in sports, music, painting, and prayer. His father is a veterinarian pursuing a Ph.D. at Bangladesh Agricultural University. With a promising future ahead, Safwan was martyred on August 5 when police opened fire on a joyful procession. His dreams, his talent, his potential—all came to an abrupt halt with a cruel bullet. But his sacrifice will remain an inspiration, driving our struggle for justice forward.

শফিকুল ছিলেন একজন দিনমজুর, পরিবারের একমাত্র উপার্জনকারী। কঠিন পরিশ্রম করে পরিবারের মুখে আহার তুলে দিতেন। ৫ আগস্ট সাভারের মুক্তির মোড়ে গুলিবিদ্ধ হয়ে শহীদ হন। তার আত্মত্যাগ শুধু একটি জীবনের ক্ষয় নয়, এটি আমাদের সংগ্রামের এক অবিচ্ছেদ্য অংশ। তিনি বেঁচে থাকবেন প্রতিটি শোষিত মানুষের অধিকার আদায়ের লড়াইয়ে, প্রজন্মের পর প্রজন্ম।

Shafiqul was a day laborer and the sole breadwinner of his family. Through relentless hard work, he provided for his loved ones. On August 5, he was shot and martyred at Mukti Mor in Savar. His sacrifice is not just the loss of a life but an inseparable part of our struggle. He will live on in the fight for the rights of the oppressed, generation after generation.

শহীদ শফিক উদ্দিন আহমেদ আহনাফ, বি.এফ. শাহীন কলেজের একাদশ শ্রেণীর ছাত্র, ছিলেন আন্দোলনের একজন সক্রিয় অংশগ্রহণকারী। ১৮ জুলাই তিনি রাবার বুলেটের আঘাত পান, তবে পরিবারের কাউকে জানাননি। ১৯ জুলাই মিরপুর ১০-এ আন্দোলনের সময় আহত হয়ে বাসায় ফিরে আসেন। তার মা তাকে আন্দোলনে যেতে নিষেধ করলে, তিনি বলেন, *”অনেক ছেলে তাদের মায়েদের জন্য যেতে পারছে না, আমি তো যেতে পারছি!”* ৩ আগস্ট আবার আন্দোলনে যোগ দেন, এবার তার মা-ও সঙ্গে ছিলেন। ৪ আগস্ট দুপুরে খাবার শেষে বাসা থেকে বেরিয়ে যান। পরিবারের সঙ্গে শেষ কথোপকথনের পর আর ফোন ধরেননি। পরে তার বন্ধুদের মাধ্যমে ইসলামিয়াহ ব্যাংক হাসপাতালে খোঁজ নিয়ে জানা যায়, তিনি সোহরাওয়ার্দী হাসপাতালের মর্গে পাওয়া গেছেন। আহনাফের আত্মত্যাগ আমাদের জন্য এক অনন্ত প্রেরণা হয়ে থাকবে।

On July 18, he was hit by a rubber bullet but did not inform his family. On July 19, he was injured again during the protests at Mirpur 10 and returned home. When his mother asked him not to join the movement, he responded, *”Many boys cannot go because of their mothers, but I can!”* On August 3, he joined the movement again, this time with his mother. On August 4, after having lunch, he left home. After his last conversation with his family, he did not answer his phone. Later, through his friends, it was discovered at Islami Bank Hospital that he was found in the morgue of Shaheed Suhrawardy Hospital. Ahnaf’s sacrifice will remain an eternal inspiration for us.
