আজ ১৫ জানুয়ারি, বৃহস্পতিবার, ৩০তম ঢাকা আন্তর্জাতিক বাণিজ্য মেলায় অবস্থিত জুলাই শহীদ স্মৃতি ফাউন্ডেশনের প্যাভিলিয়নে এক আনুষ্ঠানিক প্রেস ব্রিফিং অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।

উক্ত ব্রিফিংয়ে ফাউন্ডেশনের প্রধান নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তা লেফটেন্যান্ট কর্নেল (অব.) কামাল আকবর ফাউন্ডেশনের চলমান আর্থিক সহায়তা কার্যক্রম, চিকিৎসা ব্যবস্থা, আহত জুলাই যোদ্ধা ও শহীদ পরিবারের পুনর্বাসন উদ্যোগ, দক্ষতা উন্নয়ন ও কর্মসংস্থানমূলক প্রশিক্ষণ কর্মসূচি, স্মৃতি সংরক্ষণ এবং বিভিন্ন কল্যাণমূলক কার্যক্রম সম্পর্কে বিস্তারিত বক্তব্য উপস্থাপন করেন।

এছাড়াও তিনি ফাউন্ডেশনের ভবিষ্যৎ কর্মপরিকল্পনা, লক্ষ্য ও অগ্রাধিকার বিষয়সমূহ তুলে ধরেন।

Today, Thursday, 15 January, an official press briefing was held at the pavilion of the July Shaheed Smrity Foundation located at the 30th Dhaka International Trade Fair.

At the briefing, the Foundation’s Chief Executive Officer, Lieutenant Colonel (Retd.) Kamal Akbar, delivered a detailed presentation on the Foundation’s ongoing financial assistance programs, medical support initiatives, rehabilitation efforts for injured July fighters and families of martyrs, skill development and employment-oriented training programs, memorial preservation activities, and various welfare initiatives.

He also outlined the Foundation’s future action plans, objectives, and priority areas.

The press briefing was attended by the Foundation’s General Manager, Mohammad Sohel Mia, along with members of the martyrs’ families. Senior officials from various levels of the Foundation and relevant representatives were also present at the event.

জুলাই–আগস্ট গণঅভ্যুত্থানে শহীদদের মধ্যে যাদের মরদেহ বেওয়ারিশ হিসেবে রায়েরবাজারে গণকবরে দাফন করা হয়েছিল, তাদের পরিচয় নিশ্চিত করার লক্ষ্যে সিআইডির ফরেনসিক বিভাগকে মরদেহ উত্তোলন ও ডিএনএ নমুনা সংগ্রহের নির্দেশ দেওয়া হয়। এ উদ্যোগের অংশ হিসেবে ৭ ডিসেম্বর থেকে ২৭ ডিসেম্বর পর্যন্ত ডিএনএ নমুনা সংগ্রহ কার্যক্রম পরিচালিত হয়।

আজ ৫ জানুয়ারি অনুষ্ঠিত এক প্রেস ব্রিফিংয়ে জানানো হয়, নিখোঁজ স্বজনদের সন্ধানে এ পর্যন্ত ৯টি পরিবার ডিএনএ নমুনা প্রদান করেছে। পরীক্ষার মাধ্যমে এর মধ্যে ৮ জন শহিদের পরিচয় সফলভাবে শনাক্ত করা সম্ভব হয়েছে। সিআইডি নিশ্চিত করেছে যে, শনাক্ত হওয়া প্রত্যেক শহিদই গুলিবিদ্ধ অবস্থায় নিহত হন।

শনাক্ত হওয়া শহিদরা হলেনঃ শহিদ সোহেল রানা (৩৮), শহিদ রফিকুল ইসলাম (৫২), শহিদ আসাদুল্লাহ (৩২), শহিদ মাহিন মিয়া (৩২), শহিদ ফয়সাল সরকার (২৬), শহিদ পারভেজ বেপারী (২৩), শহিদ কাবিল হোসেন (৫৮) এবং শহিদ রফিকুল ইসলাম (২৯)। এ সময় শহিদদের পরিবারবর্গও উপস্থিত ছিলেন।

প্রেস ব্রিফিংয়ে উপস্থিত ছিলেন সিআইডি প্রধান অতিরিক্ত আইজিপি মো. সিবগাত উল্লাহ (পিপিএম, বিপিএম), অন্তর্বর্তী সরকারের উপদেষ্টা আদিলুর রহমান, মুক্তিযুদ্ধ বিষয়ক মন্ত্রণালয়ের উপদেষ্টা ফারুক-ই-আজম, স্বাস্থ্য ও পরিবার কল্যাণ মন্ত্রণালয়ের প্রধান উপদেষ্টার বিশেষ সহকারী অধ্যাপক ডা. মো. সায়েদুর রহমান এবং জুলাই শহীদ স্মৃতি ফাউন্ডেশনের সিইও লেফটেন্যান্ট কর্নেল (অব.) কামাল আকবর। উক্ত সম্পূর্ণ কার্যক্রমটি জুলাই শহীদ স্মৃতি ফাউন্ডেশনের সমন্বয়ে সম্পন্ন হয়েছে।

During the July–August mass uprising, the bodies of several martyrs were buried as unidentified persons in a mass grave at Rayerbazar. In order to confirm their identities, the Forensic Division of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) was instructed to exhume the bodies and collect DNA samples. As part of this initiative, DNA sample collection was carried out from 7 December to 27 December.

At a press briefing held today, 5 January, it was informed that so far nine families searching for their missing relatives have provided DNA samples. Through forensic testing, the identities of eight martyrs have been successfully confirmed. The CID confirmed that all of the identified martyrs were killed by gunshot wounds.

The identified martyrs are: Shaheed Sohel Rana (38), Shaheed Rafiqul Islam (52), Shaheed Asadullah (32), Shaheed Mahin Mia (32), Shaheed Faisal Sarkar (26), Shaheed Parvez Bepari (23), Shaheed Kabil Hossain (58), and Shaheed Rafiqul Islam (29). Family members of the martyrs were present at the briefing.

Those present at the press briefing included CID Chief Additional Inspector General of Police Md. Sibgat Ullah (PPM, BPM), Adviser to the Interim Government Adilur Rahman, Adviser to the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs Faruk-e-Azam, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Professor Dr. Md. Sayedur Rahman, and CEO of the July Shaheed Smriti Foundation Lieutenant Colonel (Retd.) Kamal Akbar. The entire operation was carried out in coordination with the July Shaheed Smriti Foundation.

Strategic Discussion & Networking Session — July Shaheed Smrity Foundation.
A high-level strategic meeting was held today at the BIDA conference hall to strengthen the July Shaheed Memorial Foundation’s ongoing initiatives on fundraising, medical support, rehabilitation, and memory preservation. The session was graced by the Honorable Special Envoy (Advisor Rank) to the Chief Advisor on International Affairs, Mr. Lutfey Siddiqi, and distinguished human rights activist Mr. Shahidul Alam.
Representatives from various ministries, NGOs, corporate sectors, and international chambers participated and discussed future plans and potential collaboration to enhance the Foundation’s rehabilitation efforts.
The overall plan for the upcoming “Bangladesh 2.0 Mela” was also presented. The event will be held from 25 December 2025 to 20 January 2026 at the China–Bangladesh Friendship Conference Center grounds. The fair aims to create a unified platform for rehabilitation, skill development, medical and psychosocial support, and to honor the legacy of the July–August uprising’s martyrs and injured fighters.

Today, 10 December 2025, a strategic discussion and networking session was held at the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), where the ongoing rehabilitation initiatives and future plans of the July Shahid Smriti Foundation were discussed.
The session was graced by Lutfey Siddiqi, the Cheif Chief Adviser GOB’s Special Envoy for International Affairs, as the Chief Guest, and Shahidul Alam, Managing Director of Drik Picture Ltd. and a renowned human rights activist, as the Special Guest.
Representatives from various ministries, NGOs, the corporate sector, and members of the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry also participated. They discussed the foundation’s future plans and potential areas of collaboration.
During the session, detailed plans for the upcoming “Bangladesh 2.0 Fair” were presented. This fair aims to support the rehabilitation and social reintegration of martyr families and injured fighters. It also seeks to highlight the historical significance of July and promote national consciousness among the new generation.
After discussing the foundation’s long-term activities, participating organizations expressed their interest in collaborating with the foundation and agreed to work together in the future. They emphasized that coordinated efforts between the public and private sectors would make these rehabilitation initiatives more effective and sustainable.

The emergency coordination meeting on the exhumation, post-mortem examinations, and DNA profiling for the identification of the martyrs who were killed or went missing during the July 2024 Anti-Discrimination Student-People’s Movement—and were subsequently buried as unclaimed bodies at the Rayerbazar Martyred Memorial Cemetery—was held today in the 12th-floor conference room of the CID Headquarters in Malibagh, Dhaka. Internationally renowned forensic expert Dr. Luis Fondebrider was present at the meeting and provided important guidance to ensure that the entire process is carried out in accordance with international standards.
Representatives from various ministries, departments, law enforcement agencies, and other relevant organizations, as well as the Chief Executive of the July Shaheed Smrity Foundation, participated in the meeting. Emphasis was placed on establishing a temporary on-site mortuary at the Rayerbazar area to carry out the identification process through scientific procedures. Today’s meeting marks a significant step toward preserving the dignity of the martyrs and missing individuals, uncovering the truth, and ensuring justice.

The July Shaheed Smrity Foundation (JSSF) is inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from qualified, skilled, and experienced event management companies to successfully organize and manage the 7-day Rehabilitation Fair & Exhibition Program, scheduled to be held from 24–30 December 2025.
Through this event, initiatives for the rehabilitation and empowerment of the families of July martyrs and july injured fighter will be further expanded, ensuring participation from banks, corporates, NGOs, government and private organizations, and various other sectors.

জুলাই আন্দোলনের সম্মুখসারির সাহসী যোদ্ধা আরমান, যিনি ২০২৪-এর গণঅভ্যুত্থানে অংশ নিয়ে পরবর্তীতে আহত জুলাই যোদ্ধাদের পাশে থেকে কাজ করে গেছেন নিরলসভাবে। তাঁর অকালে মৃত্যুতে আমরা গভীরভাবে শোকাহত। আরমান শুধু একজন সংগ্রামী নয়, তিনি ছিলেন ন্যায়ের পথে অটল এক তরুণ — যার হৃদয়ে ছিল দেশের প্রতি ভালোবাসা, মানবতার প্রতি অঙ্গীকার। তাঁর অবদান ও ত্যাগের স্মৃতি আমাদের অনুপ্রেরণা হয়ে থাকবে চিরকাল।

Arman, a courageous frontline fighter of the July Movement, stood fearlessly during the 2024 mass uprising and later dedicated himself to supporting the injured July warriors with compassion and commitment. His sudden passing has left us deeply saddened. Arman was more than a protester — he was a symbol of resilience, justice, and love for his country. His legacy of courage and service will forever remain an inspiration in our hearts.
