১৭ জুলাই ২০২৪ তারিখে গণঅভ্যুত্থানের সময়, আন্দোলনে নিহতদের স্মরণে গায়েবানা জানাজা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। সবাই একত্রিত হয়ে শহীদদের আত্মার মাগফিরাত কামনায় দোয়া করেন। এই প্রতীকী জানাজা ছিল শোক, প্রতিবাদ ও সংহতির এক দৃপ্ত প্রকাশ। যাঁরা ন্যায় ও মুক্তির জন্য প্রাণ দিয়েছেন, তাঁদের আত্মত্যাগ জাতির ইতিহাসে চিরস্মরণীয় হয়ে থাকবে।
On 17 July 2024, during the mass uprising, a Gayebana Janaza (funeral prayer in absentia) was held in memory of those who were killed in the protest. People gathered together to pray for the forgiveness and peace of the martyrs’ souls. This symbolic Janaza was a powerful expression of grief, protest, and solidarity. Those who gave their lives for justice and freedom will forever be remembered in the nation’s history.

আগামীকাল ১৮ জুলাই, শুক্রবার জুলাই গণ-অভ্যুত্থানের স্মরণে ‘বেসরকারি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় প্রতিরোধ দিবস’ পালিত হবে। রাজধানীর হাতিরঝিলে এ দিনের কর্মসূচিতে চারটি চলচ্চিত্র প্রদর্শনী, জুলাইয়ের গান ও ড্রোন শো থাকছে।
Tomorrow, July 18, Friday, the ‘Private University Resistance Day’ will be observed in remembrance of the July Mass Uprising. At Hatirjheel in the capital, the day’s program will include four film screenings, July-themed songs, and a drone show.

On this day, two fearless souls — Shaheed Siam and Shaheed Jashim — were martyred in the people’s movement against dictatorship.

They stood with nothing but courage in their hearts and justice in their cause.

Their sacrifice has carved the road toward freedom.

In the July–August Uprising of 2024, it was the women who stood at the frontlines — fearless, unyielding, and unstoppable.
They blocked roads, broke barriers — and lit the fire of resistance across the nation.
This July 14, we remember, we honor, we rise — with them, for them.
Their roar still echoes. And it’s not over yet.

With this controversial remark by the former Prime Minister, the entire nation seemed to ignite.
Students took to the streets, and once again, the movement to protect their rights began.
From that day, the protest gained new momentum and a renewed spirit.

এই দেশের জন্য, সত্যের জন্য, সমতার জন্য—প্রাণ দিয়েছেন ১০ জন নারী ও কন্যাশিশু। কেউ ছিল মা, কেউ মেয়ে, কেউ শিশু। তাদের হাতে ছিল না অস্ত্র, ছিল না কোনো রাজনৈতিক লোভ—তাদের হৃদয়ে ছিল কেবল অন্যায়ের বিরুদ্ধে দাঁড়াবার এক সাহসী শপথ। গুলির সামনে বুক পেতে তারা শিখিয়ে গেছেন, এই দেশের মেয়েরা কেবল কান্না করতে জানে না—জানে রুখে দাঁড়াতে। তাদের প্রাণের বিনিময়ে আমরা পেয়েছি জাগরণ, পেয়েছি পরিবর্তনের সূচনা। তাদের গল্প কোনো খবরে শেষ হয় না, কোনো পোস্টেই ধরা পড়ে না—তারা ইতিহাসের পাতায় স্বর্ণাক্ষরে লেখা থাকবে। আমরা তোমাদের ভুলব না, শহিদ বোনেরা। তোমাদের রক্তের প্রতিটি ফোঁটা নতুন বাংলাদেশের অঙ্গীকার।

“They are no longer with us — yet they live on in every protest, in every dream we dare to dream.”
They gave their lives for this country, for truth, for equality — 10 women and girl children. Some were mothers, some daughters, some just little children. They held no weapons, had no political ambitions — only a brave vow in their hearts to stand against injustice. By standing tall in the face of bullets, they taught us that the women of this land do not just know how to cry — they know how to resist. In exchange for their lives, we gained an awakening — the beginning of change.Their stories do not end in the news, nor can they be fully captured in a post — they are written in gold in the pages of our history. We will not forget you, our martyred sisters. Every drop of your blood is a pledge for a new Bangladesh.
