August 9th — Just when we thought the worst was over, another blow came. Even beneath the rubble of a fallen regime, the poison of vengeance lingered. Those who died on this day stood like the final sentinels of courage—ending with their lives so our beginning could survive. Their deaths are not just sorrow—their sacrifice is now our responsibility. They are gone, but the promise they left still lives—in our voices, in our blood.

২০২৪ সালের ৫ আগস্ট, বাংলাদেশ ফ্যাসিবাদের কবল থেকে মুক্ত হয়ে দাঁড়িয়ে ছিল এক নতুন পৃথিবীতে। এটি ছিল বিজয়ের মুহূর্ত, কিন্তু সেই বিজয়ের সঙ্গে ছিল গভীর বেদনা। এই স্বাধীনতা অর্জন করতে গিয়ে অজস্র জীবন হারানো—শত শত শহীদ এবং হাজার হাজার আহত যোদ্ধা, যাদের শরীর আর মন চিরকাল আঁকড়ে রাখবে সেই লড়াইয়ের চিহ্ন। এই শহীদরা, তাদের অধিকাংশই তরুণ, এক অমানবিক শাসনের বিরুদ্ধে দাঁড়িয়ে ছিল কেবল নিজেদের মাতৃভূমির প্রতি ভালোবাসা আর মুক্তির অদম্য আকাঙ্ক্ষা নিয়ে।
এই বিজয় শুধুমাত্র আনন্দের নয়, বরং এটি এক দুঃখভারী উপলব্ধি যে, স্বাধীনতার দাম অনেক বেশি। শহীদদের নাম, যারা চিরকাল বাংলাদেশের হৃদয়ে অমর হয়ে থাকবে, তাদের ত্যাগ অমূল্য। জুলাই মাসের যোদ্ধাদের যারা তাদের জীবন দিয়ে, বা আহত হয়ে যুদ্ধের সাক্ষী হয়ে থাকলেন, তাদের প্রতি শ্রদ্ধা জানাতে সারাদেশে সম্মাননা অনুষ্ঠান অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন ৩ জন মাননীয় উপদেষ্টা, সচিব, শহীদ পরিবারের সদস্যবৃন্দ, আহত জুলাই যোদ্ধাগণ এবং জুলাই শহীদ স্মৃতি ফাউন্ডেশনের প্রধান নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তা জনাব কামাল আকবর। তাদের সাহস, তাদের আত্মত্যাগ, তাদের রক্ত বাংলাদেশকে এক নতুন ভবিষ্যতের দিকে নিয়ে এসেছে। এই বিজয় শুধু একটি ঐতিহাসিক মুহূর্ত নয়—এটি বাংলাদেশের অটুট চেতনা, শক্তি আর দৃঢ়তার এক জীবন্ত সাক্ষী।
আমরা তাদের পরিবারের সঙ্গে শোক প্রকাশ করি যারা তাদের প্রিয়জনকে হারিয়েছেন, তবে আমরা গর্বিত, কারণ তাদের ত্যাগের মাধ্যমে এই স্বাধীনতা এসেছে। এই স্বাধীনতার জন্য আমরা চিরকাল কৃতজ্ঞ।

On August 5th, 2024, Bangladesh stood tall, having freed itself from the grip of fascism. It was a moment of triumph, but also one of profound sorrow. The victory, however, came at an unimaginable cost—1,000 lives lost and tens of thousands more shattered, their bodies and spirits scarred from the relentless fight. These heroes, many of them young, stood against an oppressive force with nothing but their love for their land and their unyielding will to break free.
The day of victory was not just a celebration, but a bittersweet reflection of the price of freedom. The martyrs, whose names will forever be etched in the heart of this nation, gave everything. The brave souls who fought in July, and whose lives are forever altered, are not forgotten. Across Bangladesh, in every corner, people gathered to honor the fallen, to share in the grief and the triumph, and to vow that the sacrifices made would never be in vain. Among those present were three honorable advisors, secretaries, families of martyrs, and wounded July fighters. The event was also graced by the presence of Mr. Kamal Akbar, CEO of the July Shaheed Smrity Foundation. Their memories, their courage, and their blood have woven the very fabric of this country’s freedom. This victory is not just a historical moment—it is a living testament to the resilience, the strength, and the undying spirit of Bangladesh.
We mourn with the families who lost everything, but we also stand proud, knowing that their sacrifice has given birth to a new era of hope. For this freedom, we will forever remain grateful.

সংস্কৃতি বিষয়ক মন্ত্রণালয়ের পৃষ্ঠপোষকতায় এবং বাংলাদেশ শিল্পকলা একাডেমির আয়োজনে আগামীকাল ৩ আগস্ট 2025 বিকেল ৩ ঘটিকায় শিল্পকলা একাডেমির প্রাঙ্গণ থেকে অনুষ্ঠিত হবে ‘রিক্সার‌্যালি। র‍্যালীতে জুলাই গণঅভ্যুত্থানের বিভিন্ন গ্রাফিতি অংকন করে রিক্সাগুলোকে বিশেষ বর্ণিল সাজে সজ্জিত করে প্রায় ৩০০টি রিক্সা একযোগে একাডেমি থেকে মগবাজার-হাতিরঝিল-মধুবাগ প্রদক্ষিণ করে আবার শিল্পকলা একাডেমিতে এসে শেষ হবে।
প্রথমধাপে সকাল ১০টায় রাজধানীর ছয়টি স্থান থেকে ৫০টি করে রিক্সা র‍্যালী করে বাংলাদেশ শিল্পকলা একাডেমিতে এসে মিলিত হবে। এরমধ্যে মতিঝিল (জনতা ব্যাংকের হেড অফিস) ৫০ টি রিক্সা প্রেসক্লাব হয়ে বাংলাদেশ শিল্পকলা একাডেমিতে, জিপিও থেকে ৫০টি রিক্সা প্রেসক্লাব হয়ে বাংলাদেশ শিল্পকলা একাডেমিতে, কমলাপুর (মতিঝিল আইডিয়াল স্কুল) থেকে ৫০ টি রিক্সা কাকরাইল-মৎস ভবন হয়ে বাংলাদেশ শিল্পকলা একাডেমিতে, রামপুরা (মধুবাগ ব্রীজ) থেকে ৫০টি রিক্সা) হাতিরঝিল-মগবাজার হয়ে বাংলাদেশ শিল্পকলা একাডেমিতে, কারওয়ান বাজার থেকে ৫০টি রিক্সা বাংলামোটর-হোটেল ইন্টারকন্টিনেন্টাল-কাকরাইল হয়ে বাংলাদেশ শিল্পকলা একাডেমিতে এবং খিলগাঁও (জোড়পুকুর) থেকে রাজারবাগ-শান্তিনগর-কাকরাইল হয়ে বাংলাদেশ শিল্পকলা একাডেমিতে প্রবেশ করবে। ৬টি স্থান থেকে সর্বমোট ৩০০টি রিক্সা বাংলাদেশ শিল্পকলা একাডেমিতে মিলিত হবে। অনুষ্ঠানের বিশেষ আকর্ষণ হিসেবে টি শার্ট, ক্যাপ, পতাকা ব্যান্ড,বাংলাঢোল, প্লেকার্ড,রিক্সা পেইন্টিং গ্রাফিতিসহ বর্ণিল সাজে রিক্সাকে সাজানো হবে।
বর্ণাঢ্য আয়োজনের উদ্বোধক হিসেবে উপস্থিত থাকবেন জুলাই শহীদ সোহেল এঁর মাতা রহিমা বেগম। অতিথি হিসেবে আরও উপস্থিত থাকবেন সংস্কৃতি বিষয়ক মন্ত্রণালয়ের সচিব মো: মফিদুর রহমান ও শ্রম ও কর্মসংস্থান মন্ত্রণালয়ের সচিব জনাব এ এইচ এম সফিকুজ্জামান উদ্বোধনী আয়োজনে উপস্থিত থাকবেন। এছাড়াও বাংলাদেশ শিল্পকলা একাডেমির সচিব ও দায়িত্বপ্রাপ্ত মহাপরিচালক মোহাম্মদ ওয়ারেছ হোসেন ‍উদ্বোধনী আয়োজনের সভাপতি হিসেবে উপস্থিত থাকবেন।
দ্বিতীয় ধাপে বেলা ৩টায় প্রায় ৩০০টি রিক্সাযোগে বাংলাদেশ শিল্পকলা একাডেমি থেকে ৩০০ টি রিক্সা একযোগে মগবাজার-হাতিরঝিল-মধুবাগ হয়ে বাংলাদেশ শিল্পকলা একাডেমিতে র্যালিটি শেষ হবে।

July Reawakening Festival 2025
Colorful Rickshaw Rally to be Held Tomorrow Organized by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy
With the patronage of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and organized by the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, a vibrant Rickshaw Rally will be held tomorrow, August 3, 2025, at 3:00 PM, starting from the premises of the Academy. Around 300 rickshaws, colorfully decorated with various graffiti artworks commemorating the July Mass Uprising, will participate in the rally. The route will begin at the Academy, pass through Moghbazar–Hatirjheel–Modhubagh, and return to the Academy.
In the first phase, starting at 10:00 AM, 50 rickshaws from each of six different locations in Dhaka will rally and converge at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. The routes are as follows:
From Motijheel (Janata Bank Head Office), 50 rickshaws will come via Press Club to the Academy.
From GPO, 50 rickshaws will follow the same route via Press Club to the Academy.
From Kamalapur (Motijheel Ideal School), 50 rickshaws will travel through Kakrail–Matsya Bhaban to the Academy.
From Rampura (Modhubagh Bridge), 50 rickshaws will come via Hatirjheel–Moghbazar to the Academy.
From Karwan Bazar, 50 rickshaws will travel via Bangla Motor–Hotel InterContinental–Kakrail to the Academy.
From Khilgaon (Jorapukur), 50 rickshaws will join via Rajarbagh–Shantinagar–Kakrail to the Academy.
A total of 300 rickshaws will gather at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy from these six starting points.
As part of the colorful event, the rickshaws will be adorned with t-shirts, caps, flags, headbands, traditional Bangladhol drums, placards, and graffiti-style rickshaw paintings.
Special Guest Appearance:
The rally will be inaugurated by Rahima Begum, mother of July martyr Sohel. Other distinguished guests include Md. Mofidur Rahman, Secretary of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, and Mr. A.H.M. Shafiquzzaman, Secretary of the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
Mohammad Warez Hossain, Secretary and Acting Director General of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, will preside over the inaugural ceremony.
In the second phase, at 3:00 PM, all 300 rickshaws will depart together from the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, proceed through Moghbazar–Hatirjheel–Modhubagh, and return to the Academy, concluding the grand rally.
