“After noon, I could no longer reach him. After Maghrib, I was informed by his friends that he had been s*hot d*ead by police. At Dhaka Medical, we finally found his body.”
“জুলাই ছাত্র আন্দোলনে অংশ নেওয়ার পর আমার ডান পায়ের হাঁটুতে গুলি লাগে। গুলি একদিক দিয়ে ঢুকে অন্যদিক দিয়ে বের হয়ে যাওয়ায় হাড় গুঁড়ো হয়ে যায়। বহু হাসপাতালে ঘুরেও চিকিৎসা পাইনি। অবশেষে ৫ই আগস্ট সরকার পতনের পর কুমিল্লা মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালে চিকিৎসা শুরু করি। এখনও পুরোপুরি সুস্থ হইনি, চিকিৎসা চালিয়ে যাওয়া জরুরি।”

Only after the fall of the regime on August 5 did I begin treatment at Comilla Medical College Hospital. I’m still not fully recovered and in need of ongoing care.”

জুলাই শহীদ স্মৃতি ফাউন্ডেশনের ১ম প্রতিষ্ঠাবার্ষিকী ও পুনর্বাসন কার্যক্রম উপলক্ষে আর্থিকভাবে অসচ্ছল জুলাই শহীদ পরিবার ও আহত জুলাই যোদ্ধাদের পুনর্বাসন ও স্বাবলম্বী করে তুলতে ফাউন্ডেশনের উদ্যোগে চলমান কার্যক্রমের অংশ হিসেবে আজ আহত জুলাই যোদ্ধা গাজী সালাউদ্দীনকে দোকান হস্তান্তর করা হয়েছে। গাজী সালাউদ্দিন জুলাই গণ-অভ্যুত্থানে চোখে গুলি লেগে আহত হন। ডান চোখ পুরোপুরি অন্ধ হয়ে যায় এবং বাম চোখের দৃষ্টিশক্তিও কিছুটা ক্ষীণ হয়ে যায়। পরিবারের সকলে তার উপর নির্ভরশীল। পূর্বে ব্যবসার অভিজ্ঞতা রয়েছে, তবে আহত হওয়ার পর থেকে চিকিৎসা ও পারিবারিক খরচ মেটাতে নিজের ব্যবসা বন্ধ রাখতে হয়েছিল। এতেকরে তিনি বর্তমানে বেকার অবস্থায় বাসস্থান করতে বাধ্য হন এবং পরিবার নিয়ে মানবেতর জীবন-যাপন করছেন।
অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন জুলাই শহীদ স্মৃতি ফাউন্ডেশনের প্রধান নির্বাহী জনাব কামাল আকবার।
1st Anniversary of July Shaheed Smrity Foundation & Rehabilitation Program
On its 1st founding anniversary, July Shaheed Smrity Foundation handed over a shop to injured July warrior Gazi Salauddin, who lost vision in one eye and partial vision in the other during the July Uprising. Once a businessman, he was forced to shut down his work due to treatment and family expenses, leaving his family in hardship.
The event was attended by Mr. Kamal Akbar, Chief Executive of the Foundation.
আজ জুলাই শহীদ স্মৃতি ফাউন্ডেশনের ১ম প্রতিষ্ঠাবার্ষিকী উপলক্ষে বিশেষ অনুষ্ঠানে আর্থিকভাবে অসচ্ছল শহীদ পরিবার ও আহত যোদ্ধাদের পুনর্বাসনের ধারাবাহিক উদ্যোগের অংশ হিসেবে আহত জুলাই যোদ্ধা মোহাম্মদ শামীমকে একটি দোকান হস্তান্তর করা হয়েছে। মোহাম্মদ শামীম আন্দোলনের আগে ছিলেন একজন ট্রাক ড্রাইভার। আন্দোলনে গুলিবিদ্ধ হয়ে তিনি কর্মক্ষমতা হারান এবং দীর্ঘদিন পরিবার নিয়ে মারাত্মক আর্থিক সংকটে ভুগছিলেন। আজকের এই উদ্যোগ তার পরিবারে নতুন আশার আলো জ্বালালো। অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন ফাউন্ডেশনের গভর্নিং বডির সদস্য মীর মাহবুবুর রহমান স্নিগ্ধ এবং প্রধান নির্বাহী কামাল আকবার।

1st Anniversary of July Shaheed Smrity Foundation & Rehabilitation Program
On the occasion of its 1st founding anniversary, the Foundation continued its rehabilitation efforts for injured fighters and martyr families. Today, injured July warrior Md. Shamim was handed over a shop to rebuild his livelihood. Once a truck driver, Shamim was shot during the uprising, leaving him unable to continue his profession. As the sole breadwinner, his family fell into deep financial crisis. This initiative marks a new ray of hope for him and his loved ones. The event was attended by Governing Body member Mir Mahbubur Rahman Snigdho and CEO Kamal Akbar.

“Our Manik was a simple, innocent boy. On July 18, during the movement, police bullets took his life. He left behind only his mother, wife, and a 1.5-year-old child. Without him, his family is now helpless and destitute.”
“আমার ভাতিজা মিরপুরে কাজ করতো, জুলাই আন্দোলনে সেও অংশ নেয়। পুলিশের গুলিতে শহীদ হলেও আমরা খবর পাই অনেক পরে। ঢাকা মেডিকেলে গিয়ে লাশ সনাক্ত করলেও লাশ নিতে লেগেছিলো দুই দিন। তার মা চিকিৎসার অভাবে ব্রেইন টিউমারে মারা যান, বড় ভাইও টিউমারে ঢাকাতেই মারা গেছে। এখন সবাইকে হারিয়ে তার বাবা পুরোপুরি অসহায়।”

“My nephew worked in Mirpur and joined the July movement there. He was martyred by police bullets, but we found out much later. We identified his body at Dhaka Medical, yet it took two days to release it. His mother died from an untreated brain tumor, his elder brother also passed away from a tumor in Dhaka. Losing them all has left his father utterly helpless.”
জুলাই শহীদ স্মৃতি ফাউন্ডেশন – National Christian Fellowship of Bangladesh (NCFB)-এর চেয়ারম্যান Bishop Philip P. Adhikary এবং Acting General Secretary Rev. Ashim Kumar Baroi জুলাই শহীদ স্মৃতি ফাউন্ডেশন-এর সঙ্গে বৈঠক করেছেন এবং ফাউন্ডেশনে আর্থিক সহযোগিতা প্রদান করেছেন । জুলাই-আগস্টের চেতনাকে ধারণ করে তারা অঙ্গীকার করেছেন যে, আন্দোলনের শহীদ ও ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত মানুষের পাশে আছে এবং থাকবে।
আমরা বিশ্বাস করি—যদি সবাই ঐক্যবদ্ধ হই, তবে আমরা আমাদের প্রিয় বাংলাদেশকে রক্ষা করতে পারব, পরিবর্তন আনতে পারব এবং আমাদের স্বপ্নের বাংলাদেশ গড়ে তুলতে পারব।

Chairman of the National Christian Fellowship of Bangladesh (NCFB), Bishop Philip P. Adhikary, and Acting General Secretary Rev. Ashim Kumar Baroi, held a meeting with the July Shaheed Smrity Foundation and extended financial support to the foundation. Embracing the spirit of July–August, they pledged to stand beside the martyrs and the affected people of the movement.
We believe—if we all unite, we can protect our beloved Bangladesh, bring about change, and build the Bangladesh of our dreams.
This support will further strengthen the bond of humanity and spread the message of unity throughout society.
