সম্প্রতি বিভিন্ন গণমাধ্যমে “জুলাই শহীদ স্মৃতি ফাউন্ডেশনে ভুয়া যোদ্ধা যাচাইয়ে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদের নামে নির্যাতন” শিরোনামে এবং এ-সংক্রান্ত বিষয়ে “জুলাই শহীদ স্মৃতি ফাউন্ডেশনের ১০ জন কর্মকর্তাসহ মোট ১৩ জনের বিরুদ্ধে মামলা” বিষয়ক সংবাদ আমাদের মর্মাহত করেছে।
জুলাই আন্দোলনের বীর যোদ্ধাদের নতুন বাংলাদেশ বিনির্মাণের স্বপ্ন, ত্যাগ ও আদর্শকে ধারণ করেই জুলাই শহীদ স্মৃতি ফাউন্ডেশন প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়েছে। শহীদ পরিবার ও আহত জুলাই যোদ্ধাদের পুনর্বাসন, সুচিকিৎসা ও সম্মানজনক সামাজিক পুনর্বাসনের লক্ষ্য নিয়ে ফাউন্ডেশনটি অত্যন্ত নিষ্ঠার সঙ্গে কাজ করে যাচ্ছে।
ফাউন্ডেশনের কার্যক্রম যখন দেশজুড়ে মানবিক সহায়তা ও পুনর্বাসনের দৃষ্টান্ত স্থাপন করছে, তখনই ষড়যন্ত্রমূলকভাবে ছয় মাস আগের একটি ভুয়া জুলাই যোদ্ধা যাচাইয়ের ঘটনার উল্লেখ করে মামলা দায়ের করা হয়েছে। জুলাইয়ের স্বপ্ন যখন বাস্তবায়নের পথে দ্রুততার সঙ্গে এগিয়ে চলছে, ঠিক তখন এ ধরনের মামলা দায়েরের মধ্য দিয়ে জাতির কাছে ‘জুলাই’-এর শক্তি এবং জুলাই পরিবারের পবিত্র আশ্রয়স্থল জুলাই শহীদ স্মৃতি ফাউন্ডেশনের ভাবমূর্তি নষ্টের অপচেষ্টা এবং একটি সুপরিকল্পিত ষড়যন্ত্রের ইঙ্গিত স্পষ্টভাবে প্রতীয়মান।
জুলাই গণহত্যা এবং মানবতাবিরোধী অপরাধের বিচার কার্যক্রম ও জাতির প্রত্যাশিত জুলাই সনদ উপস্থাপন যখন বাস্তব রূপ লাভ করতে যাচ্ছে, ঠিক সেই সময়ে জুলাই আন্দোলনের অন্যতম ধারক জুলাই শহীদ স্মৃতি ফাউন্ডেশনকে বিতর্কিত করার চেষ্টা জাতীয় ও আন্তর্জাতিকভাবে দেশের ভাবমূর্তি ক্ষুণ্ণ করার উদ্দেশ্যেই হয়েছে বলে প্রতীয়মান।
জুলাই শহীদ স্মৃতি ফাউন্ডেশন এ ধরনের ষড়যন্ত্রমূলক কর্মকাণ্ড ও মিডিয়া ট্রায়ালের তীব্র প্রতিবাদ জানাচ্ছে এবং ভবিষ্যতে এ ধরনের ঘটনার পুনরাবৃত্তি রোধে যথাযথ আইনগত ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করবে।
এদেশের জনগণ সব ধরনের নিপীড়ন, নির্যাতন এবং অন্যায়ের বিরুদ্ধে প্রতিবাদ করেই নতুন বাংলাদেশ রচনা করছে। ২০২৪-এর গণঅভ্যুত্থানে নিপীড়িত ও নির্যাতিত জনগণের অধিকার রক্ষায় লড়াই করা যোদ্ধা এবং শহীদ পরিবারদের নিয়েই গঠিত জুলাই শহীদ স্মৃতি ফাউন্ডেশন। তাই এই ফাউন্ডেশনের কোনো সদস্য কোনোভাবেই নির্যাতন বা নিপীড়নের সঙ্গে যুক্ত হতে পারেন না, এবং এ ধরনের কর্মকাণ্ডের বিরুদ্ধে তারা সর্বদাই সোচ্চার রয়েছেন।
অত্র ফাউন্ডেশন আইন ও বিচারব্যবস্থার প্রতি সর্বোচ্চ শ্রদ্ধাশীল বিধায় মামলাটি স্বাভাবিক বিচারপ্রক্রিয়ার মধ্যে দিয়ে চলতে সব ধরনের সহযোগিতা প্রদান করবে।
জুলাই শহীদ স্মৃতি ফাউন্ডেশনের সকল সদস্য দৃঢ়ভাবে বিশ্বাস করেন — সত্য, ন্যায় ও ন্যায্যতা অবশ্যই প্রতিষ্ঠিত হবে এবং এদেশ থেকে নিপীড়ন ও নির্যাতনের মতো অমানবিক কার্যক্রম চিরতরে নির্মূলে তারা সর্বদা সর্বোচ্চ শ্রম ও মেধা নিয়োগে বদ্ধপরিকর। এর বাস্তবায়নে জুলাই শহীদ স্মৃতি ফাউন্ডেশনের পক্ষ থেকে এর কোনো সদস্যকে কোনো প্রকার আশ্রয়-প্রশ্রয় প্রদান করা হয় না এবং হবেও না।
জুলাই আন্দোলনের গর্বিত শহীদ পরিবার এবং জুলাই যোদ্ধাদের সম্মানজনক পুনর্বাসনে আপনাদের সকলের আন্তরিক সহযোগিতা কামনা করছি।

Recent media reports titled “Torture in the name of interrogation during verification of fake July fighters at the July Martyrs Memorial Foundation” and the related news “Case filed against 13 people including 10 officials of the July Martyrs Memorial Foundation” have deeply saddened us.
The July Martyrs Memorial Foundation was established to uphold the dreams, sacrifices, and ideals of the brave fighters of the July Movement who envisioned a new Bangladesh. With utmost dedication, the Foundation has been working for the rehabilitation, proper medical treatment, and dignified social reintegration of the families of the martyrs and the injured July fighters.
At a time when the Foundation’s activities have become a model of humanitarian assistance and rehabilitation across the country, a case has been filed referring to an alleged “fake July fighter verification incident” that took place six months ago. When the vision of July is moving rapidly toward realization, this case appears to be a deliberate and conspiratorial attempt to tarnish the image of the “July” movement and its sacred institution — the July Martyrs Memorial Foundation.
As the judicial process for the July Massacre and crimes against humanity advances, and as the long-awaited July Charter nears presentation, this attempt to create controversy around one of the key bearers of the July Movement — the July Martyrs Memorial Foundation — seems clearly intended to damage the nation’s image both nationally and internationally.
The July Martyrs Memorial Foundation strongly condemns such conspiratorial activities and media trials, and will take appropriate legal action to prevent any recurrence of such incidents in the future.
The people of this country are building a new Bangladesh through protest against all forms of oppression, torture, and injustice. The July Martyrs Memorial Foundation, formed with the families of the martyrs and the fighters who stood for the rights of the oppressed and persecuted during the 2024 People’s Uprising, firmly believes that none of its members can ever be involved in acts of torture or persecution. On the contrary, they have always been outspoken against such inhumane acts.
The Foundation holds the highest respect for the law and judicial system, and will fully cooperate in allowing the case to proceed through the normal legal process.
All members of the July Martyrs Memorial Foundation firmly believe that truth, justice, and fairness will ultimately prevail. They remain fully committed — through their utmost effort and intellect — to eradicating all forms of oppression and cruelty from this nation. The Foundation neither provides nor will ever provide any kind of shelter or support to anyone involved in such acts.
We earnestly seek the sincere cooperation of everyone for the dignified rehabilitation of the proud martyr families and the July fighters of the July Movement.
