“আমার ভাতিজা মিরপুরে কাজ করতো, জুলাই আন্দোলনে সেও অংশ নেয়। পুলিশের গুলিতে শহীদ হলেও আমরা খবর পাই অনেক পরে। ঢাকা মেডিকেলে গিয়ে লাশ সনাক্ত করলেও লাশ নিতে লেগেছিলো দুই দিন। তার মা চিকিৎসার অভাবে ব্রেইন টিউমারে মারা যান, বড় ভাইও টিউমারে ঢাকাতেই মারা গেছে। এখন সবাইকে হারিয়ে তার বাবা পুরোপুরি অসহায়।”

“My nephew worked in Mirpur and joined the July movement there. He was martyred by police bullets, but we found out much later. We identified his body at Dhaka Medical, yet it took two days to release it. His mother died from an untreated brain tumor, his elder brother also passed away from a tumor in Dhaka. Losing them all has left his father utterly helpless.”
